Every Friday I share five frugal things that I’ve done to save or make money. I believe that a frugal lifestyle is an individual thing and there is no right or wrong way of going about it. From the smallest of savings to the greatest it all adds up and contributes to us living the life that we want for less.
Five Frugal Things
1 ) The kids and I went to the library and borrowed a big stack of books for free. Our local library was recently updated and it’s great to see so many positive changes. The kids coloured in some bookmarks which they could take home too.
2) I picked up a free coffee from Gregg’s using the O2 priority app while running errands. You can choose a large which is equivalent to one and a half cups of coffee which is even better.
3) A free bar of the new Cadbury Caramilk chocolate arrived in the mail this week. I’ve signed up for emails from magic Freebies and Latest Free Stuff so I don’t miss any time-sensitive freebies. I also picked up a free pack of San Pellegrino cans too after spotting a promotional ad on Instagram. The cans are worth £4.25 which I will be fully refunded for.
4) I made a meal plan that included breakfast, lunch, dinners and snacks for the whole week and made a shopping list based on this. Planning for all meals and snacks meant that when I went shopping I avoided impulse purchases. It’s also saved time in having to think each day about what we will eat.
5) My luck with winning prizes continues! A year’s supply of bubble gum arrived and a new duvet for my son. I also won an amazing prize on Instagram that’s due to arrive soon, more information to follow.
