5 Places In The World We Would Love To Visit As A Family

We’ve just returned from our first family holiday abroad, we had an amazing time and it’s definitely given us a taste for travel. Instead of letting the holiday blues take over, I’ve been busy thinking about some of the places in the world we would love to visit as a family.

We very often discuss the places we would all love to visit for a holiday, I bet you can guess what destination is at the top of the kid’s wishlist.  Here are our top five places in the world we would love to visit as a family.

5 Places In The World We Would Love To Visit As A Family

Cartagena, Colombia

Located on the northern coast of Columbia, Cartagena is a beautiful and historic Caribbean city. With a tropical climate, amazing beaches, El Totumo Mud Volcano, museums, and bike tours it’s the perfect place for families. I’ve been looking at the best areas to stay in Cartagena, there’s a great range of family-friendly hotels and apartments available.

Cartegena ticks lots of boxes for us, the kids really want to see a volcano and they would love to swim with tropical fish and spot some coral reefs. There’s a pirate-led treasure hunt through the historic city that sounds like lots of fun for the whole family too.

The Netherlands

I’ve always wanted to visit the Netherlands and I would love to take our family on a tour around its beautiful towns and cities. Travelling by ferry means we could take our car with us, giving us the freedom to explore and experience all the country has to offer.

We would love to take the kids on a canal tour of Amsterdam, go right to the top of the Euromast in Rotterdam and visit the Fairytale Forest at Efteling.

Tokyo, Japan

I’ve heard so many good things about how family-friendly Japan is a holiday destination. Tokyo would be our number one choice to stay, it’s central to so many amazing places that we would love to experience. There’s Moominvalley in Saitama, a free public park built around the world of the Moomins. Kids can explore Moomin houses, playgrounds, and surrounding forests and rivers.

Other must-see attractions include KidZania, Odaiba Legoland Discovery Center, the Studio Ghibli Museum, and Tokyo Disneyland.

Iceland

Iceland might not be everyone’s choice for a family holiday but it’s actually a really family-friendly destination. We would hire a car and explore all that Iceland has to offer. The kids would be amazed by the geothermal pools and baths. Visiting the Golden Circle would be top of our list though, we would love to see the erupting geysers and waterfalls.

We would definitely go on a whale-watching excursion and try our hand at dog sledding. While researching I’ve found that there are some amazing hotels and cabins perfectly located for viewing the Northern Lights.

Orlando, Florida

Top of the kid’s wishlist is, of course, Orlando in Florida. They would love to visit Disney World and Universal Studios, who wouldn’t? I’ve been to Florida twice and I just know the kids would fall in love with it as much as I did. The tropical climate is unreal, the locals really friendly and the food is amazing, if not a little indulgent.

As well as the attractions that the state is famous for there is so much more to see and do. There are amazing beaches to explore, as well as attractions like Discovery Cove, Gatorland, Kennedy Space Center, and waterparks.
