Week 25 of Project 365 has been a hot one, with the temperature climbing steadily as the days went on. I’ve included quite a few garden photos this week. I haven’t felt like venturing too far in the sticky heat.

Sunday morning started in the best way with a delicious hotel breakfast at The Reach. After saying goodbye to our lovely weekend break, we made our way home. The rest of the day was filled with our usual chores and errands to get ready for the week ahead.

While walking Indie on Monday morning, I noticed the blackberries were in full bloom, along with some pretty white flowers. A bit of research told me they’re hedge bindweed, not exactly a gardener’s friend since they’re quite invasive. Still, I think they’re really beautiful.

The temperature started to climb on Tuesday, so Indie and I kept cool in the living room with the fan on. I managed to get some work done and did a bit of planning for next month, too.

On Wednesday, I pottered around the garden, pulled a few weeds, and topped up the bird feeders. I spotted a gorgeous little flower growing right in the middle of the slate (a reminder that weed prevention sheets are a waste of money). It looked like some kind of wild flax. But when I went back out in the evening to water the plants, it had vanished! I can only guess something hungry came by and made a snack of it.

I wasn’t enjoying the heat on Thursday, but this little ladybug was. Another day of Indie and I staying cool inside, pottering around the house, slowly getting things done and dreaming of Autumn.

I don’t know what it is about Fridays, but I nearly forgot to take a photo again. I’m blaming the heat and the fact that not much happened. I did enjoy a quick trip to Aldi and made the most of the air con, but that was about it.
This is a photo of some kind of beans starting to grow in the garden. I can’t remember the variety, so that will be a nice surprise once they are ready.

Just a tiny charity shop haul on Saturday morning. The Scorpion set was brand new, and I knew Jake would love it. He had it built by the evening. I also picked up a slightly unhinged-looking owl for my collection and some jewellery for Daisy, who’s all about accessorising lately. I haven’t had much luck in the charity shops recently, though. I’ve been looking but mostly coming away empty-handed.

The heat has been horrible hasn’t it. They’ve dug out a little hole and filled it with water for the dogs to enjoy here. Better than cattle troughs.
I have been staying inside too to avoid the heat.
That breakfast looks so good!
Bindweed is awful! My garden was overrun with it last year, I seem to be keeping on top of it this year though. It does what it says binds and grows around any plants or flowers you are growing. Hmmf! x
I don’t enjoy the hot weather, and was trying to hide indoors most of the week.
Indie has such soulful eyes. That breakfast looks tasty.
Bindweed is a super tough weed to get rid of, know from my own experience.
What a cool Dinamix set! And lots of cute accessories for the summer.
I do love a hotel breakfast, it’s the only time I can eat that early and that type of food. The owl is a bit retro, I used to have something similar as a teen
Ooh that hotel breakfast looks yummy. I quite like hedge bindweed flowers. We call them “Granny-pop-out-of-bed flowers” because the flowers pop out when you squeeze the base. Hope you and Indie are managing to keep cool in the hot weather. Lovely to see the beans starting to grow. That Scorpion kit looks like fun. I bet Jake loved that. #project365
