This week has been a little difficult with one thing or another but I’m happy to say I remembered to take a photo every day. It’s become part of my routine to make sure I’m taking at least one photo a day. I’m really enjoying capturing memories again even on the days that feel mundane.

The snow and ice had all but melted today but the weather was still chilly. A bowl of minestrone soup and some cheesy crackers warmed me up nicely at lunchtime.

My friend came for a visit on Tuesday morning, and we had a good catch-up and put the world to rights. In the afternoon I read a lot, the last few chapters of the book I was reading were gripping.

I started to feel unwell on Wednesday morning and the weather matched my gloomy mood. Indie and I had a shorter walk than normal as I didn’t feel up to our usual walk. Instead of listening to my body I pushed on and got lots of admin and house jobs done and missed my afternoon nap. That evening I knew I had overdone it and felt very frustrated with myself.

I spent most of Thursday in bed sleeping. Chris started work later so he could supervise the morning and see the kids off to school. This never happens as usually I’m too stubborn to admit that I can’t do things. I’m very proud of myself for listening to my body and doing what I needed to do. I did start a new book as it was the perfect day for reading in between snoozing.

Thankfully I felt much better on Friday morning and was desperate for some fresh air. I took a shorter route again and then paced myself throughout the rest of the day.

I took a quick trip to the charity shops mainly with some book buying in mind. Chris and Jake worked on a hydraulic cyborg hand that Jake got for Christmas. We spent the rest of Saturday relaxing, reading and watching TV.

Sunday is the day we clean, sort, and prepare for the week ahead. I’ve become much better at delegating household chores, so everyone has their own jobs to do. I am pacing myself and taking plenty of rest so I can have a much better start to next week.
You can’t beat a bowl of soup when it is cold out.
You did well listening to your body and good on you for resting. x
I’m definitely eating more soup this year. Hope you’re on the mend, it’s good that everyone at home’s helping out. It really does help when you can properly rest and recover.
Soup is such a nice lunch at this time of year, proper comfort food. Sorry that you overdid things on Wednesday, glad you were able to rest and recover on Thursday. The cyborg hand looks interesting. Hope that this week is an easier one. #project365
Sorry to learn you felt unwell this week Angela, pleased you started to feel better as the week went on! Also I love a good charity shop trip, I find it therapeutic
Good on you for listening to your body and taking the time to rest. The cyborg hand looks fun. Well done on delegating the household chores.
The cyborg hand has been a hit!
Soup is definitely on the menu these cold days, and I do love minestrone. Sorry to hear you were unwell this week, and hope you are better now.
The cyborg arm sounds super cool.
How is the new book going? I’ve only read The lovely bones by Alice Sebold, and didn’t like it (i know it was a bestseller, and had zillions of fans).
I’m not loving the book so far but I’m going to persevere for now as it is interesting and I’m curious to see where it will go.
Glad you are felling better. Delegation is definitely key everyone helps makes the mess we can all help clean it!
Thanks Maria x
