It’s midweek and it’s time again to answer some questions for Wednesday’s Hodgepodge link-up.
1. What was your after-school routine like when you were a kid?
I don’t think I had an after-school routine as such. The only thing that comes to mind is getting home just in time for kids’ TV to start. I was a kid during the 1980s which is when I think kids’ TV was at its best. My favourites were Fraggle Rock, Button Moon, He-Man, Super Ted, Banana Man and many many more.
2. January 26 is National Green Juice Day ( I guess it’s true everything really does have its day). Do you juice, as in make your own in an attempt to get healthy? Do you do the green juices? What’s your favourite kind of juice (home-blended or store-bought, either one)?
I have tried various store-bought green juices but they have all tasted truly awful. Most contain things I really don’t like, like celery and kale. I think I would rather get my greens by eating them rather than drinking them.
3. What’s something trivial about which you have a strong opinion?
The first thing that springs to my mind is that I have a very strong opinion of people who ‘dog ear’ book pages to serve as a bookmark. Why would you treat a book in such a way? A nice bookmark solves the problem nicely.
4. What do you need more of in your life? Less of?
This year I think I need more connection and friendship in my life, it’s the reason I started blogging again. Taking part in link-ups has been a great way to make new connections. I just need to think of some ways to form new real-life friendships now. Less stress would be nice this year, I think everyone would like less of that though. Stress has a big impact on the chronic illnesses I have so I work really hard to limit the effects of it.
5. Give us three adjectives to describe your January.
The three adjectives that describe my January are frosty, long and reflective.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
On Saturday we visited our local museum and art gallery. They often have exhibitions throughout the year and I think the one we saw this time is my favourite ever. It’s called ‘The Worst Record Covers In The World’ and is a collection of dreadful record sleeves collected by Steve Goldman. There were so many to look at and we all had a good laugh at them. Some were just plain odd but others were truly perplexing. Here are a few photos of my particular favourite ones.
Ahh! The kids TV! Button Moon and Super Ted were my favourites.
I do not believe that people actually enjoy green juices, they are vile. hehehe
I get you about wanting to make more real life friendships. I think it gets harder the older we get.
The exhibition sounds so interesting and fun. x
The museum display sounds like fun! I grew up in the age of albums and remember the thrill of getting a new one. We’d be especially excited if the lyrics were included inside. Hope you have a great day!
LOL I too was an 80s kid but I remember cartoons more on weekends than any other day. Also, to me, the worst album covers include a dude laying in a seductive pose with no shirt. That seemed to be a thing in the 70s and like, WHY?
I love to see fun and quirky exhibits at our museum. The record covers sounds interesting. I think everyone needs relationships with others, so that is a good goal for the year.
I understand about less stress. I have RA and stress can prompt an RA episode. Love the record covers!
