Word Of The Week-Celebrate

After a rough couple of weeks I’m so glad to report this week has been a much better one. There have even been a few causes to celebrate. I’m so happy I’ve got something positive to share for word of the week at last.

The school holds a parent-teacher meeting in early October which I think is a really good idea. It really helps to find out how your kids have settled in to the new school year. On Tuesday we went to meet with Jake’s teacher who gave him an absolutely glowing report. I was a little worried as Jake has been told me that he had no friends and didn’t know anyone’s name. Well this couldn’t be further from the truth, he has lots of friends and is very popular in class. Isn’t it funny the things they tell you, I’ve been thinking he is a loner when all the time he’s been the life and soul of the party. This definitely gave us cause to celebrate.

On Wednesday it was time to meet with Daisy’s teacher. As expected she got lots of praise, she loves going to school so this came as no surprise. Daisy loves to learn, she has a real thirst for knowledge which often leaves us turning to google for answers. The teacher also commented on what a friendly, kind and caring little girl she is which makes me very happy.

Wednesday also saw another cause to celebrate, Daddy turned 38 so we celebrated with a meal at the pub. There was much excitement for a mid-week treat. It was also a nice break from cooking and washing up for me too. Chris enjoyed his little celebration which we continued at home with chocolate cake.

  2. Sounds like a lovely week, lots to celebrate. Those parents evenings sound just lovely. I have ours coming up soon and have no clue what my son’s been doing so I look forward to finding out! A belated happy birthday to Chris, too x Thanks for sharing with #WotW

  3. It’s always good to hear that the kids are getting on well at school. My daughter always tells me she has no friends and talks to no-one. Then you drop her off at the school gate and she’s immediately welcomed into a group of friends. Maybe it’s that they just don’t feel a close friendship with anyone in particular? My Little Man is not doing to well, he’s been playing up at school again. I missed his parents meeting as I was in hospital, but I’ve asked to be seen another date. Happy Birthday to your hubby, I’m glad you all had a nice celebration.

  4. I’m glad the parent evenings went well and they are both shining at school. I think children sometimes tell us parents about the 5 minutes during the day when they are alone/sad/feeling left out and forget that we need… really need…to hear about the rest of the time that they are having a ball. I bet you’re relieved that its not as bad as you imagined. Happy birthday to Chris. #wotw
