My word for this week is rest as that is what I’ve mainly been doing. It’s hard to write about my week sometimes when it seems like nothing much has happened. That’s real life though isn’t it, it can’t be fun and exciting all the time.
Monday started off well but by the afternoon I was having a pretty bad flare-up related to ulcerative colitis. I’ve been in active flare-up for a few months now but this was a particularly bad episode.
I was pretty wiped out afterwards so I’ve spent the week taking it easy and getting lots of rest. I’m very lucky and grateful that I’m in a position where I can rest when I need to.
I have been pottering around in between resting, reading, catching up on some TV shows and scrolling lots on social media. I’m starting to feel better and have had some advice from the IBD nurse that will hopefully help.
Sometimes things force you to slow down and that’s not a bad thing.
The kids have both had pretty good weeks at school which is good. Daisy got some of more of her assessment results back and she’s done really well. Jake tried some different Chinese food at school to celebrate the start of the Lunar New Year. He’s quite disappointed he wasn’t born in the year of the snake though as that’s his favourite creature.
I’m hoping next week I will have something a bit more interesting to write about.
I’m linking up with Anne from Raisie Bay for Word of the Week.
Oh no! I hope you are feeling better now after a restful week. It sounds like you needed a quiet one. x
Sometimes a restful week is needed, I hope you feel better now.
urgh IBD is horrid. We were convinced that was what was wrong with Star, she had all the markers for Chron’s, but it isn’t and although we have diagnosis we don’t know what the future will hold. I hope you are feeling better after your rest. It has to be done. I’m a snake! In fact I’m a wood snake and someone kindly reminded me that the wood snake (this year) only comes around every 60 years. I have to make the most of this year I guess as I probably won’t get to see the next one!
You did manage to be able to afford to get some rest in so that’s a good thing. Great that your daughter is doing well too. Hopefully you will have a better week next week.
Sorry to hear that you’ve had a flare-up and hope that you’re feeling better now after having some rest. Well done to Daisy on her assessment results and hope Jake enjoyed having some Chinese to mark the Chinese New Year. #WotW
