This past week I feel like I’ve been utterly spoilt with lots of treats. It started with a day out in Liverpool on Saturday then carried on with some lovely gifts, messages and a super long lie in on Sunday. I even gave myself some treats to celebrate the fact that this year marks my 21st since first becoming a mummy.
On Saturday I spent the day in Liverpool with my cousin and we had a wonderful time. We made a special trip to take the afternoon tea I won last month at a Thai restaurant called Chaophraya at Liverpool One. The food was amazing and the staff were so lovely and attentive too. The afternoon tea included lots of lovely Thai delicacies and I would definitely recommend a visit if you are local.
We had also planned a trip to the cinema, my cousin got some heavily discounted tickets from Groupon. After booking our tickets we had just enough time to squeeze a cheeky cocktail. Staying with the budget friendly theme of the day the cocktails were on buy one get one free. We chose mojitos which were absolutely delicious, it was tempting not to order more but we needed the room for nachos at the cinema. We had a fantastic day and all for under £20, what a treat.
On Sunday I woke to breakfast in bed, my favourite smoked salmon, cream cheese and bagels. The kids had bought me some lovely things with the help of Daddy. I got books, lush bath bombs, chocolate and earl grey tea. I had also treated myself to a new teapot and some inspiration daily quotes. This year I wanted to celebrate all the wonderful things about being a mummy.
I also woke to a lovely message from my eldest girl who made me feel very special indeed. Even my biggest boy, who’s at uni remembered his old mum and sent me a lovely text.
Once breakfast was over I went back to sleep and had an extra long lie in until 11am ! This really is a treat, I’m usually up at 6.
The rest of the week has been pretty good too, I’ve had lots of time to indulge in reading and I’ve even had time for a relaxing bath. I could get used to all these treats.
