This week’s word was going to be frustrating, but I recently used that one. I do like to mix it up, so I’ve gone with waiting instead.
Jake
Jake spent the start of the week excitedly waiting to go on a residential to Wales with school. He has been away before with school, but only overnight. This time he is away for 3 days and 2 nights.
Since he went on Wednesday, I’ve been eagerly waiting for him to return. I love that he’s off on an adventure, but I’ve really missed him. Moreover, I don’t like it when all my people are not under the same roof.
The school have been sending updates in the evening, attaching some photos and giving us a rundown of how the day has gone. It looks like they have had an amazing time. I can’t wait to hear all about it later on today.
Weekend
This weekend, we are supposed to be going for an overnight stay in a hotel that I recently won. I say supposed to be, as although the rooms are booked, I have absolutely no details about the other elements of the prize. These should have included travel. The lady who was organising the stay has an out-of-office reply on her emails. Furthermore, my email to the hotel hasn’t been replied to. As of Friday morning, I’m waiting for a response. I will give it until mid-morning, then I’m going to have to start calling to get some answers. At this point, I think we may have to postpone. It’s been so stressful, especially as I’ve had to make arrangements for Indie to be looked after.
I am, of course, very grateful for the prizes that I win. However, having to chase people for details just a day before we are due to leave takes the enjoyment and fun right out of it.
Other Niggles
There have been a few other things this week that have really niggled me, I might as well get all my moaning out at once.
I expected a delivery of another prize. This one I had to spend £20 to have delivered as it was coming from France. I waited at home especially for the delivery. However, I was confused when only an envelope arrived. The envelope contained colour samples and not the actual paint I had ordered.
After speaking on live chat, my order is now on the way, but it took a lot of time and translation to get to that point.
On Thursday, I received a text from the vets informing me that Mo’s vaccination had lapsed. He passed away in April, so that was kind of obvious. I phoned them and asked them to remove him from their system. I thought this would have already been done. They were very apologetic.
There have been various other things that have happened this week that have made me frustrated, annoyed and sometimes angry. I think it might just have been one of those weeks. At least it gets all the bad stuff out of the way at once, I suppose.
Today, there will be no more waiting. I’m going to take action on the things that I do have control over and look forward to collecting Jake this afternoon.
I hope you have all had a much better week than I have.
I’m linking up with Anne from Raisie Bay for Word of the Week.
