Back-to-school season has finally arrived and there’s much excitement at our house. We were recently sent a Gel-a-Peel Glow In The Dark Kit to decorate our back-to-school stationery. Daisy was very excited when a gold metallic notebook arrived for her to decorate too. She loves using notepads as journals, she can write little snippets about her school day. The Gel-a-Peel kit is ideal for decorating notebooks, pencil cases and school bags.

With Gel-a-Peel you can design and create your own fashionable accessories. The kit comes with:

3 glow-in-the-dark tubes of gel.

3 nozzles to create different designs.

16 design templates.

Gel tray to make shapes and gems.

Clear drawing sheet.

Cleaning tool.

Daisy couldn’t wait to get started on her design, we decided to use the gel tray to spell out her name and she also wanted to create some gems to stick on too. The set is recommended for ages 8+ but with adult supervision, it was easy for Daisy to use.

Daisy wanted to use the gels to create patterns straight onto the notebook. She used the rake and star-shaped nozzles to create different effects. Daisy loved using the nozzles and said it was just like decorating cupcakes.

A word of warning, be prepared to get a little messy. The gel is quite sticky if you get it on your skin but washes off easily with soap and water. We used a messy mat underneath to protect the table.

Daisy had lots of fun decorating her notebook and couldn’t wait for her shapes and gems to dry so she could stick those on too.

You can also make fun bracelets with the kits. Daisy made a simple one using the template, she just needed a little help to keep the lines straight. She wants to make bracelets for all her friends as well. There’s lots of gel in each tube so we should be able to make a few more in the future.

I think this set would make a great gift, I’m definitely going to look at the other sets in the range for Daisy. She really did enjoy getting crafty and designing with her Gel-a-Peel kit.
