Project 365-Week 15

Project 365-Week 15

It’s been absolutely beautiful weather here. I’ve had a lovely, pleasant week to match the weather.

On Monday, when I walked Indie, I was quite surprised to see how quickly my favourite trees have become green again. A week ago, they were still looking quite bare. Isn’t spring amazing?

Chris went back to work. Although his back isn’t 100% better, he needs to start moving again. It was a work day for me today after I mopped all the floors.

On Tuesday morning, I watched as a bird, a starling I think, finally used the wonky bird table I built. It made me a little teary, to be honest. How soft am I? One of my goals this year was to make the garden more friendly for wildlife, and I think I’m on my way to doing that.

Daisy joined me on Wednesday for an early, sunny morning walk. Indie is actually better behaved for Daisy on walks than she is for me; she says I’m not strict enough with her. That did make me laugh, as it’s probably true.

On Thursday morning, I went to get my spring Covid vaccination. Daisy and I cycled over there as it’s close to the library, and we wanted to borrow some books. We had a lovely morning together. In the afternoon, Daisy went swimming with friends, so I took the opportunity to have an afternoon nap.

Jake finally finished school for the Easter holidays, so we celebrated with our favourite tea, Fajitas.

Chris and Jake went to watch the Minecraft movie at the cinema on Friday evening, so Daisy and I did some scrapbooking. We make such a mess when we scrapbook, but it’s a good kind of mess. I do think we need to find some better storage for all our ephemera, paper and stickers, though.

Jake joined me for a walk this time on Saturday morning. I couldn’t believe how warm it was at 9 am. I asked Jake to take a photo of me, and I think he did a pretty good job. When you are the one who takes the photos and keeps the memories, you often forget you need to be in those photos and memories too. This summer, I need to remember to delegate when it comes to taking photos.

I went to a few charity shops yesterday but found it was slim pickings. We even drove to another town but only found two tiny shops with barely any stock. I’m wondering if it’s just the time of year or if people are donating less.

I snapped this photo of my little haul this morning before finding homes for them. I like to wipe everything over before putting it away. The rest of my Sunday will be spent decluttering, sorting and cleaning Jake’s bedroom. He has been inspired by the programme Sort Your Life Out.

  1. It has been lovely weather hasn’t it. I’ve loved seeing the green coming out on the trees. I used to make greetings cards, and even though I got rid of lots of craft stuff, I’ve still got quite a lot around the house I need to declutter.

  2. I hope Chris was OK on his return to work. A bad back is just awful.
What a lovely pic of you and Indie! Jake took a fab shot. I need to be in more pics too, as I’m normally the one with the camera.
I love that the birds are visiting your table, it looks great. I am off shopping this week for a bird feeder and water table for the new garden. Can’t wait to see what visits.
I hope you have a lovely week Angie. x

  3. Even today the weather hasn’t been too bad considering it was meant to be a lot cooler. It is so nice to see the trees turning green again and how lovely to have birds visiting your garden.
Fajitas is one of our favourite meals too but we’ve not had it in ages! I love the look of your scrapbook, it is a good kind of mess. x

  4. I think it’s wonderful that you’ve made a bird table and there is no shame in being emotional because it was used. Those peppers look yummy. I like to make a big batch of peppers and keep it in the fridge for a couple of days, adding them as side dish to what we have during those days. It’s both healthy and delicious.

  5. It’s been a lovely week, weather-wise, and I hope we don’t get the frosts that have been in the forecast. The bird table looks lovely, and how wonderful to watch birds using it.
Scrapbooking is great fun. Your book finds look good. I like Peter James, though haven’t read these ones.
I’m with you re photos. I take hundreds of pictures of my family, but don’t have many of me, unless I ask my younger son, he is actually better than my husband.

  6. I think Jake did an excellent job taking that photo. When I look at the ones hubby takes of me, there’s little chance they’ll see the light of day. Shame about the charity shops this week.

  7. Glad Chris is able to be back at work and hope his back continues to get better. Lovely to see the starling on the bird table. That’s a lovely photo of you and Indie. I tend to be the one behind the camera too – it’s important to be in some of the photos too though. Nice to find some scrapbooking bits in the charity shop. #project365
