Project 365-Week 18

Project 365-Week 18

The past week has absolutely flown by, and I can’t believe it’s already time for another project 365 post. April ended in glorious sunshine, and May started in pretty much the same way.

Juicy roast beef with golden crispy potatoes, steamed vegetables, stuffing and gravy served on a grey dinner plate.

On Sunday afternoon, we went to my eldest daughter’s for a Sunday roast. She makes the most delicious roast dinner, and her roast potatoes are perfection. Her cooking skills do not come from me, but I am very grateful for them. It was lovely to spend some time with them all.

Border Collie running energetically across a field of green with dandelions scattered throughout.

Indie had a nice run around the field on Monday morning before I headed home to get on with some work. It was a quiet day with not much happening so I watched some TV and started a jigsaw.

Jigsaw puzzle featuring a cozy Grandma's kitchen where she is baking with her grandchilden, a golden retriever dog and some pups.

Tuesday was another slow day. I did some bits and bobs around the house and then finished my jigsaw.

Close-up of delicate white Hawthorn blossoms with green leaves.

This Hawthorn blossom smelled amazing on my Wednesday morning walk. The weather was amazing today, lovely and warm and blue skies all around. I did some end-of-the-month jobs, then popped out in the evening to pick up some things for Jake’s birthday, which is just over a week away.

Thursday was May Day, and what a lovely day it was again. It’s been so lovely and sunny this week, it just makes everything seem better. I took this picture of Indie looking like a very distinguished lady. She likes to keep me company while I work, it’s the perks of the couch being your office.

On Friday, I spotted this fungus growing on one of the trees near the brook. After some research, I think it’s known as chicken of the woods. Isn’t nature amazing!

I had a rest day today, although my health has been better lately, I don’t like to push myself too far. This time last year, I was in an awful flare-up up so I’m grateful for every good day I have.

On Saturday, we used our prize tickets and went to Chester Zoo. I took a million photos, but wanted to share this one of the kids and me on the lazy river boat. Going to the zoo with a teenager and a pre-teen is a very different experience from taking toddlers. The excitement might not be as high, but we still had a great time.

  1. Love the picture of Indie with her legs crossed, she does look like a distinguished lady. Your roast dinner looks fab!
I love seeing all the blossom too

  2. You’re so lucky that your kids still go on days out with you. I can’t get mine out, unless it’s just to go to Costa because he needs to go to the shops. The blossom’s been lovely this year.

  3. That roast dinner looks so good and it’s always nice to have someone else do the cooking.
Indie really is a sweetheart and does look like a very distinguished lady.
Chester Zoo sounds like a great day out. x

  4. I have loads of Hawthorn blossoms near me, but I do not like the smell at all! Sounds like you had some time to relax this week – the puzzle has a very fun picture. I love a good zoo, especially with the weather we have been having lately.

  5. What a delicious looking roast dinner, I haven’t had one in a long time. And I never mastered the art of Yorkshire puddings, I guess I’m not British enough. 🙂
We have a lot of hawthorn tress in the fields nearby, it’s always such a joy to see them in blossom.
The puzzle looks lovely. Glad you had a fab time at the Zoo with your guys.

  6. `lovely photo of the three of you, looking nice and relaxed, glad you all enjoyed it. Peter and I go and visit places like that now without the kids and actually enjoy ourselves. Indie just look very relaxed on the chair.
