Project 365 Week 21-Pottering, Planning & Prize Wins

Week 21 of Project 365 has been a mix of slow days and nice moments. I spent the week feeling quite flat, but winning a few prizes gave me a lift. I spent some time walking the dog, thinking ahead, and just pottering around the house, which suited my mood perfectly.

Sunday was a nice, relaxing day at home with not much to do. I spent my time pottering around and preparing for the week ahead. The usual Sunday jobs had to be done, like ironing school uniforms and meal planning, but there was plenty of chilling time too.

I spent some time admiring these beautiful flowers that Daisy bought for herself to put in her bedroom.

I’ve been on a winning streak lately with competition prizes. I won this set of books on Instagram, and they arrived on Monday. I’ve been in a real reading slump this month; nothing is quite keeping my attention, so I’m hoping this detective series will help.

I also had a message on Instagram to say I had won £400 worth of vouchers to spend across two different home stores. I’m looking forward to choosing something nice for the house.

I spent most of the day working, although work has been very slow this month, I’m still trying to put the hours in.

I had to get my planner out several times on Tuesday as a flurry of appointments and emails arrived with dates that I needed to note down. Without my planner and notebooks, I would be truly lost. I do have a pretty good memory, but I can’t rely on it as much as I used to.

I had a nice winning text message today. I’ve won some cash with a Lindt purchase necessary competition, but I won’t know the amount until it goes into the bank.

I’ve been feeling rather flat this week so far, so I decided to just take the day off and do things that make me feel better. I had an afternoon nap, watched some TV and scrolled TikTok for funny video clips.

Wednesday was another day of not feeling too good. I’ve been extra exhausted this week on top of the usual fatigue. I pottered around the house, did what I could manage and then spent the rest of the day resting. This photo of Indie is the only one I took today; she’s really chilled for a Border Collie and loves nothing more than resting with me.

A nice, gentle walk on Thursday morning lifted my spirits when I spotted a Heron along the brook. I was amazed at how much elderflower there is everywhere; it’s lovely to look at, but I don’t enjoy the smell of it at all.

Once I got home, I did a few hours of work on the laptop and entered some competitions. In the evening, I went to B&M to buy some more planters so we could put the strawberries in their own pots. I also picked up a few bits that we need to take on holiday with us.

I treated myself to this fabulous toadstool for the garden when I went shopping yesterday. I’ve been out in the garden a lot today and keep looking at it and thinking how much I love it. Isn’t it funny the little things that can bring you joy?

I spent most of Friday cleaning, sorting and organising. I’m in a good routine on a Friday now and actually look forward to everything being done for the weekend.

The kids were very happy to get home today. Daisy has a week off, and Jake has two weeks off. When Jake goes back, it will be his last ever term in primary school, so I’m trying not to think about that too much.

On Saturday morning, I went for a nice fresh haircut. My hair is so thick that I look forward to my hairdresser’s thinning scissors so much. I eventually want to go a bit shorter, but this length will do for now.

My cousin visited in the afternoon, it was lovely to have a catch-up with her. I have a busy day tomorrow, so I spent the rest of the day reading blogs, comping and relaxing.

  1. It sounds like a good week despite your flat mood.
Those flowers are so pretty and well done with your wins! You have done really well.
I would be lost without writing down all the important dates in my planner.
I love that toadstool, how cute and your hair looks fab! x

  2. Big well done on winning all the competitions! Hope the Lindt win is a nice one too! I saw the books you won on Insta, and had to google the author. They sound just my type of reading, and I have added them to my wish list (which I keep checking daily to see if the prices have gone down.) Happy reading!
The flowers look beautiful, and your new hairstyle is fab too. Love your new toadstool, so colourful.

  3. Congratulations on the wins £400 is a lovely amount to buy things you wouldn’t normally get. Hope you enjoy reading the books also. I love the toadstool, it would bring me pleasure as well, little bits of happiness. I find if I don’t write things down I forget, however once it is written down I rarely have to go back to check it.

  4. Ah, congrats on the competition wins. I’ve not had any for a while, but need to get back into comps again. I go through phases. I’m terrible with my memory nowadays. If it’s not written down at the time I remember it, it’s gone. I’ll remember and think I must remember, but then get distracted and remember it too late. The joys of perimenopause
