In November I wrote This or That? Winter Edition and I had a lot of fun thinking about my answers. I thought I would do something similar but about Christmas this time.
This or That? Christmas Edition
Christmas away or Christmas at home?
It has to be Christmas at home for me, I’m a home bird and love my creature comforts. I don’t think it would feel like Christmas at all if I wasn’t at home to celebrate it.
Decorating the tree or wrapping gifts?
I would take decorating the tree over wrapping every time. Wrapping gifts is not a skill I have been blessed with, in fact, I’m terrible at it. I would rather put everything in a gift bag and be done.
Real tree or artificial tree?
As much as I love a real Christmas tree and have had them in the past I would choose artificial. It makes me sad to think about chopping a lovely tree down just to display it in the house and then throw it out. This year I bought the kids small real trees that are potted so that after Christmas we can plant them in the garden.
Mulled wine or hot chocolate?
This is a no-brainer for me, hot chocolate would be my choice. I’ve tried to like mulled wine but it just tastes awful.
Elf or Home Alone?
I love Home Alone it’s such a fun feel-good movie that I could watch over and over again. Elf is something I think I’ve only watched once and didn’t really remember but I’m thinking I should try again as a lot of people love it.
Snowman or snow angels?
Definitely a snowman, they are so much fun to build. If only we had enough snow to build a huge one, we usually only get a flurry here. Snow angels sound very cold!
Fuzzy socks or slippers?
It has to be slippers for me, I’m really fussy about socks. We have wooden floors and although those fuzzy socks look lovely I don’t fancy slipping over every time I need to move.
Christmas songs or Christmas movies?
I can’t choose between them, I love Christmas movies but I love the festive songs too. There are certain movies like The Muppets Christmas Carol and songs like Fairytale of New York that I must watch and listen to every year or it just doesn’t feel like Christmas.
Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
I think I prefer Christmas Eve, the build-up and excitement are just the best. Christmas Day can feel a little overwhelming. I do love watching the kids open their presents but after that, it’s just a day with too many expectations upon it. There’s so much pressure to make it magical but by the time it comes around I’m too burnt out to enjoy it usually.
Christmas jumpers or matching PJs?
I’m not a massive fan of either of these but if I had to choose it would be Christmas jumpers. I do think matching PJs look lovely but they are just not for us.
Visit Santa or Visit the Grinch?
I can’t stand the Grinch! I love the movie but the people who dress up in character are terrifying. A visit to Santa sounds lovely, especially if I can ask for a present.
Christmas Pudding or Mince Pie?
I really like them both but I would choose mince pie. Christmas pudding is nice but no matter how little I eat I feel incredibly full afterwards and it’s so rich. A lovely warm mince pie with a side of whipped cream hits the spot every time.
Gingerbread or Candy Cane?
I absolutely love gingerbread but candy canes can be a bit hit or miss. If the candy canes are peppermint flavoured then I like those but any other flavour just doesn’t make sense.
What would your answers be? Do you agree with mine or are yours completely different? Leave me a comment I would love to know.
Fab answers! Mine would be exactly the same. I love Home Alone! Hehe. xx
I loved reading this and learning a little bit about your Christmas. The potted trees that are going into the garden sound like a fabulous idea! I made mince pies at the weekend. We are enjoying them already!
Lots of fun questions! I’d have a hard time choosing for some of them. I love both Elf and Home Alone but I don’t drink wine so hot chocolate would be my pick there.
I love this! I think I have most the same choices as you, but I find wrapping more fun than decorating the Christmas tree, it’s easier to do sitting down. Although, when I could stand up for ages I loved decorating the tree and would spend ages getting it just perfect…oh and it has to be an artificial tree. Also, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day…I think my favourite is Boxing Day..phew, we made it through, lol. I do like mulled wine and hot chocolate, that’s a hard choice. And definitely Santa over the Grinch.
Fun post with interesting questions and answers. I hope your holidays are fabulous!
I love your answers!
I hate wrapping presents too. I get my girls to help and they love it, weirdo’s. lol
