Word Of The Week-Flat

This week, I went with the word flat because that’s exactly how I’ve been feeling. I know that not every week is going to be amazing, but feeling flat isn’t much fun, is it? It would be lovely if every word of the week were a cheerful one, but that’s just not how life works.

Instead of focusing on feeling flat, I wanted to share a few things from the week that gave me a little lift. They reminded me that even when things feel a bit blah, the feeling doesn’t stick around forever.

Little Mood Boosters

  • Lovely, peaceful morning walks with Indie.
  • Seeing a Heron enjoying the sunshine along the brook.
  • Spotting a ladybird on a leaf.
  • Watching all the different birds visiting my garden after I top up the bird table with seed.
  • Chatting with the kids about our upcoming holiday.
  • Hearing that Daisy told Chris that if love were a person, it would be me.
  • Jake playing out with his friends and loving his newfound independence.
  • The Toblerone dessert that I bought from Farmfoods.
  • Finding Lays crisps in Home Bargains, they remind me of holidays abroad.
  • Watching Last One Laughing with Chris in the evenings.
  • Daisy buying flowers for herself to put in her bedroom.
  • Winning some lovely prizes, including some cash.
  • Watching a bee collect pollen from the geraniums.

Just writing about those little mood boosters has already helped me feel a bit better. It’s so easy to overlook the small, happy things when you’re having an off week, but they’re always there, waiting to be noticed.

I’m linking up with Anne from Raisie Bay for Word of the Week.

  1. Sorry to hear that you’ve been feeling flat this week and hope that next week will be better. I love your list of mood boosters – lots of lovely little things to make you feel better. I especially love Daisy’s comment to Chris and her flowers are beautiful. Watching nature in the garden is always a mood booster for me too. Well done on your wins this week as well. #project365

  3. I love how you turned ‘feeling flat’ into a more positive post. It’s all about looking for those small things amongst the bad. I hope you do feel more lifted now.
