I don’t think there is a more perfect word for this week, despite a few lingering chilly mornings there have been signs of Spring everywhere. The clocks went forward on Sunday leaving us with lighter evenings and each morning I’ve listened to the dawn chorus. The blossom trees are in full bloom and we’ve been treated to some amazing blue skies.
Spring along with Autumn is my favourite season and I think that’s down to the changes in nature that are so easily recognisable. The colours and scents this time of year are a real treat for the senses.
Along with Spring comes Easter much to the kids excitement. I’ve been shopping this week to stock up on chocolate eggs, Easter gifts and goodies for an egg hunt. On Monday I went to a local church with Jake’s class where the kids listened to the Easter story before making a card and decorating some ginger biscuit bunnies and chicks. They had such a lovely time, although they found it hard not to munch their biscuits before we returned to school.
On the school run the kids have been having fun spotting different coloured blossoms, ducks, squirrels and daffodils. I love how much they notice the world around them.
Spring has also brought with it an extra burst of motivation for me too. I’ve been busy this week cleaning, sorting and getting things done that I’ve been putting off. The brighter days always seem to put an extra spring in my step. I’ve also been busy writing, some of the posts have had a Spring theme like our bucket list and one about sorting out your finances.
I’m hoping those inevitable April showers will hold off a little longer and it’s a no for the snow that some areas have seen this week. There are lots of things to do in the garden and I’m hoping this weekend will be the time to do it.
I’m linking up with Anne from Raisie Bay for Word of the Week.
You might enjoy my previous word of the week post, Excitement.
I love all the signs of spring. The fresh green growth is something else. The church visit sounds lovely. I do miss those school events. I think I’ve stocked up for Easter now. Added to my Egg hunt supplies this week. I always feel motivated to do a spring clean when the sun catches the dust in the air. Not too much sun this week, but I really should make a start. Hope you have a good week. #wotw
It’s so much noticeable that the house needs a good clean when the sun shines, dust is an enemy of mine x
Like you I enjoy the changing seasons the most, Spring and Autumn. I really don’t like the change in the clocks though, it really messes up my body clock and affects the kids too, we are still trying to get used to it almost a week later. Still, it’s nice that it stays lighter longer. Glad to hear of your burst of motivation, please feel free to share it 🙂 Thanks for linking up to #wotw xx
Those pesky clock changes, they really are no good when you have kids x
I do love spring, although we were one of the areas that had a good snowfall! It was a bit mad, if I’m honest.
I saw that some areas had some snow, how crazy ! hopefully Spring is on it’s way to you now x
We have had a few spring moments but lots of April showers, a thunderstorm and some snow. lol
We are ready for Easter too and we’re all stocked up with eggs and the kids can’t wait to start eating them. x
The weather has been crazy hasn’t it, hopefully that’s the snow out of the way now until Winter x
Spring is a beautiful time of year. It is lovely to see those changes in nature – I do love the blossom and the daffodils. Glad that the arrival of Spring has brought a burst of motivation with it too 🙂 #WotW
The changes in nature are amazing, I love this time of year for that very reason x
I am loving Spring its so much nicer the nights being lighter, and sunny days I so hope it leads to another great summer. Easter just feels like such an exciting time, I may have had an egg already !
Me too Sarah, I may have had several oops. The lighter nights make the days feel longer too x
