With Strictly Come Dancing back on the TV it’s time to celebrate the glitz and glamour of the show. Dance fever is once again sweeping the nation and what better way to celebrate than by making some glitzy accessories? We are teaming up with Gel-a-Peel to celebrate all things strictly come dancing. The lovely folks at Gel-a-Peel sent us a Fashion Maker Station so Daisy could design and create some accessories and jewellery.
The Gel-a-Peel Fashion Maker Station comes with everything you need to get creative. Here’s what’s included:
Fashion station with gel tube stand.
5 Gel-a-Peel colour tubes. Pearly Lilac, Pure Gold, Pearly Plum, Sparkle Light Pink and Pearly Black.
Accessory hardware for 3 clutches and 1 pair of earrings.
40+ design templates and stencils.
2 gel trays to make clutches.
7 designer tips.
2 squeegee tools.
1 cleaning tool.
With the Fashion Maker, you can create and design patches, t-shirts, jewellery and accessories.
Daisy decided she wanted to make a clutch and a pair of earrings. Once we had set up the fashion maker station Daisy chose a gel tray for her clutch design. She chose to use pearly lilac, pure gold and pearly plum for her design. I helped attach the tip to the gel tube. This part gets very sticky and messy so I suggest covering the table with a protective mat.
Daisy got to work, squeezing the gel along the tray, I then helped her to drag the squeegee tool across to flatten the design and make sure we had filled in any holes left behind. The clutch needed plenty of time to dry and set so she decided to use one of the stencils to create some flowers to stick on the clutch.
I gave Daisy some help making the earrings as it was a little tricky for her to do alone. We chose to make the musical notes to represent the fantastic music featured on Strictly Come Dancing.
Daisy couldn’t wait for her creations to dry. Once the clutch was dry we decided to add a few gems of our own to bling it up a little. I think Daisy’s creations turned out great considering it was her first attempt.
Daisy had so much fun with the Gel-a-Peel fashion maker station, she wants to design a t-shirt next so a plain white t-shirt is on the shopping list.
