It seems like ages since I wrote a post about our family life, I sometimes forget that although my blog is about our frugal endeavours it’s also a place to document our memories for our children to look back on, so I thought I would share what we got up to in the February half term.
I used to share a lot of these types of posts but they got lost somewhere along the way so I’m bringing them back as they do fit the theme of my blog as the things we do as a family are usually planned around a budget.
Chris had the half term week off work so we planned to make the most of it, we got lots of house things done but we made sure we also dedicated time to doing things as a family.
We took advantage of the brighter weather and visited the local park a few times.
Daisy did her homework, she had to make a South Africa themed hat for world book day, we love crafts in our house so we had great fun cutting, glueing, colouring and designing.
Towards the end of the week, Chris used his matched betting profits to buy us a second-hand car. It’s been tough without one and we intend to make the most of it by getting out as much as possible, visiting free or cheap places of course.
We visited my brother, his wife and their beautiful baby girl, we called in on my biggest girl, her partner and my gorgeous grandson it’s so nice to have the freedom to do this again.
On Sunday we went for a very muddy walk at Pennington Flash which is a nearby country park, there is a large lake, a play park for the children and a lovely trail to follow around the park.
Chris took the kids off to a soft play centre one afternoon so I could catch up on some work which was much appreciated, they had a lovely time and the centre didn’t charge for Jake which was a bonus.
We had such a lovely week and I didn’t want it to end, I’m already planning things for us to do next half term.
What did you get up to in the school holidays? leave me a comment below I love hearing from you.

Half term whizzed by us far too quickly too!
We spent two days at an ace recreational centre that we love and between getting haircuts and the odd day out it was gone!
DS has always been a kid that has to be doing something but half term week he showed signs of just wanting a quiet day indoors. So next school holidays, I am going to do a little experiment to see if that works or is he climbing the walls! lol
Like you, I am already planning stuff for the Easter break 🙂 and at the end of April, we have been treated to a weekend at Centre Parcs so looking forward to that.
I love family posts and love pics of your little ones 🙂 great news about the car! 🙂

ooh centre parks, how wonderful I’m always trying to win a break there, have a fabulous time !
Glad you had a good half term too x
