One of my goals for 2025 was to find more link-ups to join in with and I think the monthly Share Our Lives is a perfect one for me. This month is all about saving time on chores which is one of my favourite things to do.
I’ve had my own home since I was 19 years old and over that time I’ve tried lots of different ways to save time on chores. I like to keep a clean and tidy house so finding ways to do that alongside raising a family has been really important to me. Here are some ways I save time on chores.
Daily Chore List
The biggest way to save time is by doing something every single day. If you try to tackle the chores once a week then you are quickly going to become overwhelmed.
I have a list of daily chores that are my priority, this includes vacuuming (we have pets so this is a must), wiping the bathroom freshening the toilets and putting everything back in its rightful place.
Have A Routine
I think routine is key when it comes to saving time with chores. There are certain days of the week that I do certain things like mopping the floors, ironing and deep cleaning various areas. Having a routine and a plan means nothing gets overwhelming and takes me less time to complete.
Another positive of having this routine is that if I need to miss a chore, it’s not too much of a disaster as it’s been done regularly anyway. I have chronic illnesses, so sometimes things don’t go to plan if I’m having a flare-up.
Decluttering
I’m not a minimalist by any means but I do like to declutter at least once a month. Decluttering regularly means fewer things to spend time taking care of.
Delegate
I used to be terrible at delegating chores to the other members of my family. Taking everything on myself because the perfectionist in me wanted things done in a particular way was exhausting. I’m happy to say I’m a recovering perfectionist and now everyone in our house has their own chores to do.
The kids are responsible for their own bedrooms, they clean and vacuum on a Wednesday and a Friday. This saves me so much time as I hardly have to do anything in there anymore. My husband Chris does the washing-up every evening after tea and anything else I might need him to do. It hasn’t been easy to delegate the household chores but it has saved me so much time and energy.
Prioritize
Sometimes I find myself doing things that I really don’t need to be doing. I often make myself sit down and ask myself what I should prioritize. Some chores don’t need to be done that often and can wait until you have a spare window of time to concentrate on it.
I’m always looking for ways to save even more time when it comes to chores. Do leave me a comment if you have any other suggestions that might help.

Great tips!! A routine is a must, I have a good one at the moment and I am on a mission to declutter our house which is making the cleaning and tidying much easier!
Love your tips. Thanks for linking up
So many of us said “decluttering” and I really think that is such a timesaver — less stuff, less cleaning!
