Word Of The Week-Organising

Word Of The Week-Organising

My word for this week is organising. After a challenging month, I decided I needed to take control and get things organised.

Home

I don’t think a time will come when our home is completely organised, and I’m okay with that. There are certain jobs that I like to get done each season, like decluttering and deep cleaning. This week I’ve been focused on decluttering and getting those areas organised.

Jake had a really good sort-out of his bedroom, so we listed lots of items on the Olio app. Anything that hasn’t been collected by the weekend will be donated to the charity shop.

We have a pile of things that need to go to the recycling centre at the weekend, and I’ve continued to add items to it.

I’ve also organised some systems around the house that just weren’t working for us any more.

Dates

I’ve updated my diary with upcoming appointments and events for the next few months. I booked a day out at Alton Towers with some tickets that I had won, and I planned a date to visit Chester Zoo again, with some prize tickets.

We have a few things coming up for renewal, like the broadband, gas and electric, so I’ve been looking at organising some better deals for those.

Next month we have Jake’s birthday and a holiday to look forward to. I think I am mostly organised for those, but there are still a few little things that need double-checking.

Digital

One of my favourite things to do is organise my digital life, although it’s a never-ending task. This week, I have updated my spreadsheets and deleted some out-of-date files. I’ve also organised my receipts into the correct files.

I’ve also tidied up my social media feeds and cleared out old messages and notifications.

It’s been a very productive week, and I’m feeling so much better for it.

I’m linking up as usual with Anne from Raisie Bay for Word of the Week.

  1. Organising weeks are actually good for the soul. A house that is lived in will always be chaotic at times but those reorganising days help to reset!

  2. I’ve just done a full diary update and got everything booked I need for travel up till October and have a list for travel insurance and visas to do.
Digitally, I’ve so many things I want to do, but the task just seems too big and I keep getting distracted. #wotw

  3. Oh I’m so with you there, but most of my organising goes on in my head as physically it’s just not happening. It will though. I’m glad you’ve had a productive week, see what a little organisation does 🙂

  4. Always nice to have a productive week and have a good sort-out of things. Sounds like you’ve been really busy with the decluttering and getting organised and lovely to have days out and birthday celebrations to look forward to. #WotW

  5. A bit of reorganising can work wonders (says she who needs to do exactly that but hasn’t yet!) I did update the calendar for the new month though.
